Features

From a static image to a connected experience

WP InSpot adds a layer of interaction to the images you already use: clickable areas that explain, popups that show context and connected views that lead deeper. Here is what that gives you in practice.

The differentiator

One image leads to another

Any clickable area can open another interactive image. Separate visuals become one path: site plan to building, floor to apartment, machine to component.

Visitors move deeper when they want detail and step back when they need the overview — built-in navigation keeps them oriented the whole way.

  • Link any area to another workspace
  • Build paths as deep as your content needs
  • Back navigation built in — a zone can even jump straight back to any earlier view
  • The whole path lives in a single embed

Precision

Clickable areas that follow real shapes

Draw zones directly on the image: trace a building outline, a room on a floor plan or a single part of a machine. Zones match what users actually see — not approximate pins.

Highlighting on hover and focus makes it obvious what can be clicked, and colors and themes keep zones consistent with your brand.

  • Freeform shapes, not just markers
  • Hover and focus highlighting
  • Attention effects — a gentle zoom or pulse draws the eye to key zones
  • Custom zone colors and themes
  • Works on photos, plans, diagrams and renders

Context in place

Answers appear where the question is

A click opens a popup right on the image: a name, a description, an image, a link to read more. Users get context without leaving the visual.

Content cards can link straight to your WordPress content, so a popup is a doorway — not a dead end.

  • Text, images and links in popups
  • Connect areas to posts and pages
  • Link to any content type with Pro
  • Works with mouse, touch and keyboard

Table view

The same zones, read as a table

Some visitors compare figures instead of exploring a picture. The table view gives them one row per clickable area, in columns you choose — a price list under a building plan, opening hours beside a venue plan, specifications under a product photo. It is the same image, the same zones, a second way in.

Rows are your zones

Every clickable area becomes a row, numbered exactly like the pins on the image. Nothing to maintain twice — the table is the same content, read differently.

Columns you define

Choose the fields once — area, price, status, anything your content holds — and every level of a nested image shows the same columns.

Reads on its own

Beside the image, rows and zones highlight each other and a row click opens what the zone opens. On a page with no image, it is simply a table — built on the server, so search engines read it.

Building the column set is a Pro feature; a table that already exists keeps rendering on every plan.

WordPress-native

Managed in wp-admin, published anywhere on your site

Workspaces live in your WordPress admin like any other content. Build, edit and publish without an external platform or account.

Embed with a shortcode or a Gutenberg block — and if you build with Elementor, there is a dedicated integration.

  • Shortcode and Gutenberg block embedding
  • Elementor integration
  • Import and export between sites
  • GA4-ready analytics — zone clicks land in your Google Analytics automatically
  • Your content stays in your database
  • No “Powered by” badge — WP InSpot never adds links or credits to your site

Access for everyone

Interactive doesn’t have to mean inaccessible

WP InSpot is built with accessibility in mind: embeds include skip links, interaction is keyboard-friendly and every visual area can carry text context.

That makes it a natural fit for museums, education and public-sector projects where WCAG-oriented implementation matters.

  • Keyboard-friendly interaction
  • Skip links in every embed
  • Text context for visual areas
  • Supports WCAG-oriented implementations

And the rest

Practical touches that save time

Themes, animations and transitions

Adjust how zones look and how views change — no CSS required. Popups take their type from your theme, so they read like the rest of the page.

Templates

Design a content card once — title, image, excerpt, price — and reuse it across zones and workspaces. Put blocks in two columns when one list is not enough.

Markers and icons

Pick from 160 built-in icons or upload your own SVG to mark points of interest.

Responsive embeds

One experience that adapts to desktop, tablet and touch — on phones the image becomes a list with numbered pins on the photo.

Multilingual-ready

Works with Polylang and WPML for translated sites.

Import and export

Build on staging, move to production — or reuse work across sites.

Some of the above are part of Pro — see pricing for the exact split.
