What you can build with WP InSpot

Interactive images work wherever a static visual holds more information than it can show at first glance. Here are six areas where connected views, clickable areas and popups make visual content easier to understand — all built from images you already have. Every example below is a live demo — click through it the way your visitors would.

Real estate

Real estate developers

Real estate is where connected views feel most natural. A typical investment lives across static PDF floor plans, scattered apartment details, disconnected renders and availability tables — and buyers lose context every time they switch between them.

WP InSpot brings it together: let users move from a site plan to a building, from a building to a floor, and from a floor to an apartment — all inside one interactive experience.

  • Interactive site plans with clickable buildings
  • Building views that lead to floors and apartments
  • Floor plans where every apartment can explain itself
  • Popups with layouts, areas and key details
  • One clear visual path from overview to a single room

Live demo: click an apartment on the building, then a room inside it.

New – table view

And the availability list, wired to the plan

Every investment already has a price list: unit, floor, area, rooms, price, status. Since 1.5.1 that list can be the same thing as the plan. Each apartment on the floor plan is a row in the table – hovering a row highlights the apartment, and clicking it opens the same details the apartment itself opens, or goes deeper into its own plan.

It also covers what an image cannot do alone. The table is built on the server, so the areas and prices sit in the page’s HTML where search engines read them, and a buyer who would rather compare figures than explore a drawing gets a list to scan — without you maintaining the same data twice.

It is not only for apartments. Every zone that does something gets a row – one that opens a post, one that holds nothing but text, one that links out, one that opens a nested plan – and when there is no post behind a zone, a column can read the zone itself, its label or its number. Assignment follows the same tree: a workspace either carries its own set of columns or inherits the nearest one above it, so a whole building is set up once and a single floor can still be given a table of its own.

  • Apartments as rows: unit, floor, area, rooms, price, status
  • Row and plan highlight each other; a row click behaves like a click on the apartment
  • Every floor of the building shows the same columns — assign the column set once
  • Sold or reserved units read the same way in the table as on the plan

Retail & shopping centres

Shopping centres and retail parks

A shopping centre lives in two places at once: a floor-plan PDF and a store list somewhere else. A visitor finds a brand in the list, goes back to the plan and starts hunting for the unit number all over again.

WP InSpot puts the two together. The centre plan opens a level, the level opens a store or a facility, and the same zones can also be read as a directory.

  • Centre plans with clickable levels
  • Stores, dining and services on the level they are on
  • Facilities: entrances, lifts, restrooms and parking connections
  • Tenant pages that stay ordinary WordPress content
  • A store directory generated from the same zones

Live demo: click a cabin, the pool or the restaurant to see what is there.

Tourism & hospitality

Hotels, tourism and attractions

Not every project needs an expensive 3D virtual tour. WP InSpot is a practical alternative: create a guided visual experience from the plans, photos and renders you already have — and keep it easy to update in WordPress.

Show guests where everything is before they arrive. A resort plan can lead to areas, rooms and amenities, each with its own photos and details.

  • Hotel, resort and campsite plans
  • Attraction and conference venue plans
  • Room and amenity guides
  • Interactive tours built from existing images
  • No heavy production required

Culture & public sector

Museums, galleries and public institutions

Help visitors understand spaces, exhibitions and collections before and during their visit. An interactive museum map can guide people room by room, with popups that introduce exhibits right where they belong.

Accessibility matters here more than anywhere. WP InSpot is built with accessibility in mind and supports WCAG-oriented implementations: text context for visual areas, clear content structure and keyboard-friendly interaction.

  • Museum maps and visitor routes
  • Exhibition guides and gallery floor plans
  • Educational exhibits explained in place
  • Public building plans
  • Accessibility-conscious visual navigation

Live demo: click a part of the building to open the rooms and exhibits behind it.

Education & experts

Education and expert diagrams

Turn diagrams into guided explanations. Instead of one dense graphic followed by a long block of text, let users explore complex visuals step by step — each element explained exactly where it sits.

It works for teaching materials as well as expert content: from process diagrams and training slides to architecture and mechanical diagrams.

  • Technical and scientific diagrams
  • Process diagrams and training materials
  • Medical and mechanical illustrations
  • Architecture explanations
  • Step-by-step visual learning paths

E-commerce

Expert e-commerce and complex products

Useful for products that need explanation, not just a gallery. When a product has parts, technical features or configurations worth understanding, a static photo set leaves questions open.

Mark the details directly on the product image: components, materials, functions. Users click the part they care about and get the answer in place.

  • Product parts and technical features
  • Furniture sets and machine components
  • Premium and configurable products
  • Educational product pages

Live demo: click a part of the camera to open its product details.
